The UK's first community-led political primary to unite the progressive vote behind one candidate at the general election
Book your ticket to one of seven Town Hall Q&As around the constituency, where you can question the opposition candidates and then vote on which one you think is best-placed to defeat the Conservative MP.
All South Devon constituents are warmly welcome, including Conservative voters who feel left behind by this Government.
The following conditions apply:
- - Only voters registered in the South Devon constituency can attend and vote. There's still time to register to vote - see our guide.
- - Each person can only attend and vote at one event, with a ticket in their name.
- - Tickets booked by individuals publicly aligned with parties campaigning against the progressive candidates will not be valid.
Unsure whether you're within the new constituency boundaries? Please press this button:
Constituency postcode checkerNote: These events will be in two separate parts. The first 90 minutes will be a regular hustings with the chance to hear from and question the candidates. The candidates will then depart and the Primary voting will take place.
Tickets will be sent by email from 'Eventbrite'. No email? If it's not in your spam folder, please contact us at hello@southdevonprimary.org
Labour don't yet have a candidate and have indicated they won't be attending. We're holding a seat on the panel and do hope the candidate is able to attend at the last moment. But if not, the overriding aim here is to unite the progressive vote, and with a possible May election looming, the events are proceeding as programmed. We’re determined to make the process as fair as we possibly can within circumstances beyond our control. So there will be an option to vote for the "Labour candidate TBC" on the Primary ballot paper.
Kingsbridge and South Brent are now fully booked. You can still click through to book a 'voting-only' ticket, allowing you to watch the live broadcast at home and come in to vote after the audience leaves the venue. Though if at all possible, please do book for another event - full halls really help the campaign.
Important: Entrants must be prepared to unite behind the single progressive candidate chosen by the Primary process. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone involved in campaigning against the progressive parties.
